Courses Offered

B. Pharmacy

A four-year professional programme divided into eight semesters that deals with the study of medications is known as B. Pharmacy (B. Pharm), and it is offered by KCOP as an undergraduate course in Pharmaceutical Sciences. Pharmaceutical chemistry (the chemistry of medicinal compounds), pharmaceutics (the manufacture of dosage forms like tablets, capsules, etc.), pharmacology (the action of drugs on the body and the body’s reaction to drugs), and pharmacognosy (drugs derived from plants and other natural sources) are the core subjects of the B. Pharm course. The study of pharmacy, which includes the science of producing, administering, and evaluating pharmaceuticals and therapies for safe and effective use, is the main subject of a Bachelor’s in B Pharma undergraduate degree programme.

B.pharm students receive clinical and community exposure in addition to classroom instruction, preparing them to be active change-makers and solution givers in the healthcare industry. B.pharm students also receive on-the-job training through internships and clinical rotations in pharmacies and healthcare facilities. This helps them qualify to sit for the licencing tests necessary to become registered pharmacists after completing the curriculum. Graduates of a B.pharma programme may choose to work as pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, or pharmaceutical researchers, among other professions.

Intriguingly, as technology develops and the pharmaceutical industry increasingly uses big data and artificial intelligence, there are more and more opportunities for pharmacy graduates to specialise in fields like pharmacy informatics, pharmacovigilance, and clinical research, among others. The discipline of B. Pharm is one that has a bright future and a wide range of job options. Graduates with a B.pharm degree have a wide range of employment options and can significantly impact the healthcare sector as a whole.
